Stealth Cam G30 Review

Stealth Cam is a name you can trust when it comes to choosing high quality trail cameras for your hunting and observation needs. This Stealth Cam G30 review looks as this mid-range, reliable trail camera. With so many great cameras out there to choose from to buy, making the best decision can be daunting, but this review will bring you information about the features that this camera has to offer. You’ll find out about how easy it is to use, just how high the image quality is and how it performs.

Ease of Use

Many people are put off cheaper or mid-range trail cameras (for example: MOULTRIE M 1100I GAME CAMERA ) They are often of inferior quality, are heavier and larger, and can be really difficult to set up. This camera however is nothing like its unfavorable stereotypes. The G30 has been designed to be so simple to operate that there will be very little need for you to even look at the user guide. If you do need a little helping hand though, the user guide is laid out well and offers simple to follow instructions on how to get started. The three quickset options are pre-loaded into the camera so that you can set it up with minimal fuss, although if you want to make your own manual adjustments, you can do so. This camera is so simple to use that all you need to do is check the batteries, mount it to a nearby object using the supplied mounting strap and choose the setting that you need.

Recording Quality

This camera comes with an 8-megapixel image sensor. This is high quality and will ensure that daytime photos are crystal clear. For those who prefer to hunt in the daytime and want to track daytime wildlife, this makes this camera perfect.

The nighttime sensor features 30 infrared emitters. This allows for videos to be captured clearly even if it is dark outside. This ensures that photos and videos taken in both daylight and at nighttime are of good enough quality. This camera can even produce decent results in the rain.

To minimize blur caused by movements, the G30 has matrix blur reduction built into its design. Whilst other cameras are known to produce poor quality images, especially at nighttime, this camera does not have that problem. It can also record video clips in high quality high definition, along with audio. This is what makes this camera so much better than others in the same price bracket.

Trigger Performance

When you buy any trail camera, one of the most important things to consider is the trigger performance. This ensures that the camera will actually catch footage of whatever triggered the motion sensor. This camera has a great trigger speed of half a second and this can initiate the burst mode if you choose this setting. This mode takes up to 9 photos each time the camera is triggered and you can set the delay between photos to be 5 to 59 seconds. It also has a 5 second recovery. This performance is great for a camera of its price range.

Battery Life

This trail camera takes 8 AA batteries to power up. You should note that it does not come with these, so you will need to remember to purchase them when you order the camera. These batteries are able to last for months without needing to be replaced, which is convenient if you want to be able to set up the camera and then leave it a while to capture footage over time. In order to get the longest possible life out of the batteries, it is recommended that you don’t use rechargeable batteries, and instead choose only lithium ion batteries or alkaline. If you follow the guidelines, this camera is capable of running reliably for over 6 months. Changing the batteries is not difficult either, thanks to the easy to remove battery compartment.

Storage and Resolution Options

Although this camera does not come with an SD card for storage, you can use your own. It takes standard SD cards and can support sizes of up to 32GB. This will be enough for you to leave the camera recording for over 6 months, as it will be able to store all the photos and videos that are triggered in that time.

With a wide sensing range and 16:9 image resolution settings, this is a camera that produces images and videos that are suitable for most screen setups. You can also alter the quality of the images so that you can capture more footage on the same memory card. Although this camera is capable of recording in up to 8MP quality, you can choose from 8 MP, 4 MP and 2 MP resolutions. You can also set the camera to record videos in widescreen if you wish. If you are not into fishing you will love this camera.
